Dr. Sonya Shah is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery.
After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, she earned her medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed both her ophthalmology residency and her glaucoma fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Shah has taught residents and medical students, written scientific articles, and volunteered in eye clinics across Latin America. A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, she contributes to the American Glaucoma Society as a program committee member and to the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology as an executive board member.
Outside the clinic she likes to travel and discover new corners of the region with her husband and their three daughters.
