Dr. Jeffery retired from practice on February 29, 2024, after 16 years caring for NVOA's youngest patients.

Before NVOA she served on the faculty of Children's National Medical Center and co-directed the pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus service at Cleveland's Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for 11 years, with a faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Her expertise included amblyopia, adult and pediatric strabismus, retinopathy of prematurity, and neurologic conditions affecting vision.
